Social Butterfliesedness (huh?)

You know what I mean, don't you? Any how, we are once again spreading our social butterfly wings. This neighborhood is great and filled with wonderful people, so we learned on Saturday. But first, let me start off by commenting on Friday's evening. Linda and Matt met us for dinner at Anamia's. They have not been and once dinner was over they said they enjoyed it. After dinner, we did go back to our house since they have not seen it yet and wanted to check it out. We gave them the tour and then settled in for a movie and then pool shooting. It was nice to catch up with them since it has been a while since we have gotten together. Linda is a friend of mine that I met while working at the Federation. You know how it is, you make friends at your job and then someone leaves....generally that friendship dies off. Not in this case though. I am happy for that because I do enjoy our time together. On a side not, I had to take a picture of her standing next to Aubry. Aubry is pretty tall for her age but when you put her next to an adult that is barely taller than her, it is pretty cute!

Now let me bring you to Saturday. Saturday, I left the house to get hamburger and hotdog buns, lots of cheese slices and trash bags. Those were the assigned items I was to bring to the Block Party. We started set up around 2:00 in the garage of one of the show homes. There was so much food. Countless hamburger patties, hotdogs and buns to go with them. All the condements you can imagine, side dishes, multiple bags of chips, a huge variety of sodas, water, margarita machine, keg...which I later learned was completely drained along with the margarita machine. There was a bounce house for the kids, raffles for various items from businesses in the area, poker tournament, etc. It was a lot of fun. Gave us an opportunity to meet some our neighbors and learn more about the people around us. It is kind of funny because even as adults, there were people in their 'groups'. You had the Westeria Lane group, the Cheers group and then the so called normal group. Very diverse indeed. Hunter and I met a couple that we had a lot of fun with. They are great people, very down to earth and fun to be around. They came back to our house after we finally grew tired of being in heat. They stayed until around 11:30 or so. We will probably get together with them today as well. We had a lot in common and it was nice to meet another female that does not fit that stereo typical wife!
