Officially On Vacation

It finally arrived. My vacation was really supposed to start yesterday at my usual quitin' time of 4:30. That did not happen. In fact, I worked through most of the night and all day today until about 6:00. My counterpart taking 2 and half weeks off was pretty rough. I wanted to turn things over to her at a manageable state since she comes back the day after Christmas and I am gone. Basically, we are like 2 ships passing in the night. Any how, not whining...well maybe a little! So, like the title reads, my vacation is officially here and so is Aubry's. The problem on that side is things is that Aubry was out of school on Thursday and Friday with strep throat. Her holiday break did not start off on a good foot. I will say that today is a better day for her. She is feeling better already and it looks like her break will not be a complete bust afterall. So, what have I been doing all this week since my last post? Not a lot. I have been working, a lot. I will say that I am very happy that my Christmas shopping has been done for a while now. No stresses there. Thank goodness! And Hunter did get the last item on my list this weekend. Saved me an extra trip.

Tomorrow I will get the food for our Christmas dinner. Hunter's family is coming over to celebrate and I am going to make a nice dinner for every one. Lets hope I don't burn down the kitchen! I am also taking Aubry for a much needed hair cut tomorrow. Should have been done a couple of weeks ago. That is it for my Sunday. I know that the stores are going to be absolutely nuts tomorrow with it being the last shopping weekend. I will survive and I will get in there with the rest of the crazy's! I do plan to do this after I watch the Packer/Bears game. As much as I like the Packers, I do want the Bears to win. Only because it will give the Cowboys home field advantage in the playoffs. And that is ONLY reason I want the Packers to lose.

Oh, and our new living room set came today. It is awesome. I decided to move the stuff we already had into the front room and bought a couch, chair and ottoman in a beautiful crimson red for the family room in the back. The red is perfect and it gives the room that pop of color I was hoping for. I already had a crimson red paint that I was going to use in that room but I changed my mind when I decided to get red furniture instead. I am still going to use the paint. It is going in the half bath that is adjacent to the family room. Should tie in nicely. I will post pics soon. The ones I took earlier today had too much other "stuff" in the pic! Like Aubry's bright pink blanket, a box of kleenex, a grocery sack with used kleenex in it (gross), stuffed animals, etc. You know, the room just looked lived in! Oh wait, that is how it is supposed to look, right!?

Other good news for this Saturday is that the Cowboys won tonight. They defeated Carolina 20 to 13. They played pretty good tonight. A heck of a lot better than last weekend. Cowboys defense got 5 sacks on their QB. Should have been 6 but they called one of them back for a helmet to helmet hit on the QB. However, after the replay, it was more like helmet to shoulder. Bad call on their part. That is okay I guess because there were a couple of pass interference plays that the Cowboys got away with.

I am done for the night. Tired of looking at a computer!
