I am happy today is here and there are a number of reasons why. One of them being, I am not at Ikea any more. I finally went yesterday and now I know why I put it off for a week. I kept telling myself, it will be alright! And yes, it was alright but that place is always so dang crowded. It is not the type of place that I would wake up one morning and decide I would like to just go shopping there. I really and truly must have a reason to go there. In the case yesterday, I did have a reason. Aubry really needed a desk for her computer and we wanted hers to match what Hunter and I already had. The only place that had it was Ikea so I had no choice but to go there. Now, I could have ordered it online but they wanted a ridiculous amount of money to ship it. It was then I decided I really must go. Next time, if there is a next time, I will wait until someone is available to go with me! Don't get me wrong, Ikea has some wonderful things but I learned the best time to go is first thing in the morning. Not at 2:00 in the afternoon like I did yesterday! Okay, now on to the other reason I am happy today is here. It is playoff day for the Cowboys. Cowboys and Giants meet for the 3rd time this season. Typically when that happens (regardless of the teams) it is rare for them to win all 3 match ups. We shall see what happens. Cowboys were looking terrible the last couple of games and the Giants were looking pretty good. Lets hope the rolls have reversed and the Cowboys are back on track. Hunter, Aubry and I are going over to LaBrett and Gene's house. It should be a lot of fun because Gene is a diehard Giants fan while LeBrett and I are hardcore Cowboy fans. Hunter, well he could care less! I think he likes the Cowboys but the main reason he wants them to win is because if they lose it puts me in bad mood! I will say this about Hunter...he really likes to see the QB get sacked and he likes to see hard hits! That really makes the game enjoyable for him!
Many of you may recall that Hunter's birthday was this week. I caved in and gave him his gift early (last Saturday) so when his actual birthday rolled around, I did not want it to go unnoticed. I took off from work a little early so I could go home and get Aubry. We left for Target to get cake, ice cream, birthday decor, cards and a gift from Aubry. I wanted to get a red velvet cake since that is his favorite but Target only sells them by the slice. I got a slice just for Hunter and then a variety of cheesecake slices. Aubry and I got back in time to decorate the dining room. I picked that room because it is the first thing you see when you walk in from the garage. I got Hunter's expression as he walked through the door to see the mess of stuff on the table. He was surprised and happy! I think the other thing that made him happy was that he could smell his favorite meal cooking!
I am off to get ready for the day.
