Packed Full of Goodness (mostly)

This weekend proved to be a very busy one. I won't go into great detail for fear of, "who cares", or "I am bored".

I started off my weekend by working until 11:30 Friday night. (Is that really a good way to "start" the weekend?) Any how, after working Friday night, I was hoping for a weekend of nothing else but goodness. That did happen, even though I still had work on the brain. I woke up Saturday morning and decided to get my run out of the way. Speaking of running, Shannon turned me onto a device that I MUST have. It is called the Garmin Forerunner HRM 405. It is a GPS device that maps out the distance you ran, calories burned, heart rate, etc. You can transfer the data to your computer and you get a pretty little report of your run. You can use this as a tool to challenge yourself to do better the next time, you can share it with others, etc. Any how, my little blurb here is not doing this device justice. Just go check it out online. Cool gadget. Back to my run: I did not go as far as I wanted to due to a severe pain in my side. Not sure what that was all about but at least I did get out and run. After the run, I decided it would be a good time to dive into the flower bed and get it cleaned out. It is now weed and grass free. All it is missing is mulch and maybe a tad more color. Once the flower bed was all cleaned out, we gathered the troops (all 3 of us) and headed out the Harkins Theater to meet Mike. We saw Iron Man which was Awesome! I will be adding this movie to our library at home. After the movie, we went to dinner. I actually ate a bacon cheeseburger and it was soooo dang good. I have not had anything of the sort in weeks and I decided what the heck. Besides, Mike said for me not to look at is as a step back, but to see it as reaching my plateau. Whatever that means! Any how, the burger was good, the company was better. After dinner, we went our separate ways (Mike went his way and we went home). Got home and checked my work email...nothing still. Dang it. Looks like I will have to wait to see how to proceed. Any how...what did we do the rest of the night? Oh yea, Aubry and I cleaned out her closet to see what she was in need of for the summer. Let me just say, good thing we already had plans to go shopping tomorrow.

On to Sunday. I drove out to Benbrook while Hunter was on his crotch rocket (i.e. sport bike). I followed him out there to meet the rest of the group of guys he was riding out with that day. Took some pics, which I post later, and listened to some of the stories that were exchanged by these riders. I wanted to plug Aubry's ears on occasion but I think she was oblivious to some of the language that was going around. She was actually too busy checking out the other bikes. Ahhh, some day, I will have one parked next to Hunter's. And before any one says anything, I will be taking the riders safety course first to see if riding is for me. I will just get a little 250cc and not a bigger bike like the one Hunter has. So, relax! Any how, the riders took off and Aubry and I headed to the mall. It was almost like culture shock to be honest. I have not been in a mall in a very very long time. Luckily, we were there early enough to avoid any crowds. I did some summer clothes shopping for me first and then we off and running to the next store for her stuff. We spent a good 2 hours getting her taken of (at just one store). Whew, thank goodness for 20% discounts. Gotta love that. She ended up with some great stuff that she picked out. I threw in my 2 cents but for the most part, she knows what she likes and she knows what works together. The shocking part, she picked out two dresses! They look fantastic on her. (Wore one of them to school today) We got done shopping and went over to have dinner at Mary Jo's. That was already in the plan and the stores that Aubry and I wanted to go to are on that side of town as well. Timing worked out great. We had a lovely dinner and had some time to sit and chill with Mary Jo and Amy. Mark was there but he was wrapped up in the baseball game! It has been a long time since we have seen our family so it was a perfect ending to the other wise blow and go weekend.

On a side note: we drove by the old house. I wanted to see how big the little tree was that I planted 5 years ago, which was the size of weed at that time. It is huge now. I would say it is easily 6.5 feet high. No joking around here. Growing nicely...as are the weeds and the grass and the shrubs. I was a bit disappointed to see that the front of the house looking like trash. Oh well, not our place any more...but still.

I am done for now. I am sure I am leaving out something like laundry, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.
