Susan G Komen 3 - Day (click me!)

I recently learned that my best friends mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Shortly after getting that news, I heard the radio advertisement for the Susan G. Komen 3 Day. I knew immediately that I had to register. Having done this walk 6 years ago, I knew it was an important event. And I also knew that this was something that Liz would want to do with me. With no hesitation, I asked her if she could fly down here in November and join me on this journey. I don't think I got the whole thing out before she was saying yes!

With any luck, I won't get blisters under my toe nails like I did 6 years ago! In all seriousness though, this event will absolutely take your breath away. There are many wonderful stories of survival and stories of moms, daughters, sisters being lost to this illness. That is why this event is so necessary. It helps to raise the necessary funds for research so we can hear more success stories, more stories of survival.

Time to start training for another event! Maybe I can run part of this 60 miles. Ha! We shall see.

More to come later.
