Catching Up....

It has been a few weeks...and to summarize the last few weeks would probably result in a very long post. A few highlights might not be a bad idea.

The Corporate Challenge 5K race took place last week. I placed 347 out of 1093 runners. I would have loved to do better. I guess because I have raced before, I know I can post a better time. I will my chance in December to improve my time. I am going to run in the Jingle Bell Race. Should be fun...and hopefully not too cold. The Corporate Challenge 15K bike race took place this past Sunday. It was my first bike race ever and my bike was not really the ideal bike in which to race with. I placed somewhere in the middle. I think there were 370 something bikers and I was like 200 something. So, I placed a little below the half way mark. I am really okay with that. I ride my bike for cross training, but never really trained for a race. So, for me to post 34:14 for a 9 mile ride on my heavy mountain bike is pretty good, I think! But, I have been entertaining the idea of purchasing an actual road bike for racing. They are dang expensive though. Entertaining the idea does not cost anything so I will continue to entertain!

The first full month of school has been a good one for Aubry. Her first progress report came home with all A's. Sweet! It took her the first week to get acclimated to the riggers of athletics. I told her that over time, her muscles would become conditioned and it would get easier for her. Sure enough, she does not come home nearly as sore and she is really enjoying it. The running part of the conditioning is fun for her. She says she is pretty fast and is excited to see what events she would be able to participate in for Track. Basketball is another sport that she has taken a liking to. We have been working with her pretty regularly to help fine tune her skills and with any luck, she will make the team. Try outs are the first week of November, so wish her luck.

That is all for now. I was up really early this morning and don't want to think about posting! Lame, I know. :)
