The weekend started off pretty good. Friday was spent with Shannon and Payton at the Main Event. Payton just turned 12 and this was one of three birthday celebrations for her! She had a slumber party on Saturday (the next night) with her 6th grade friends from school. But she wanted to be able to do something with Aubry too since they are really good friends, despite the 2 year age difference. So, Shannon opted for bowling and video games and invited me to come along. Since we are friends, I thought it would be fun. The one complaint, okay two, that I have about the entire night is that they start the clock as soon as you pay for how ever long you plan to bowl. It takes at 5-10 minutes to put your shoes on and enter all the names, and if you have problems doing that you can add another 5 minutes! And the 2nd thing was the sloooowwwww service. Shannon and I were starving and ready to eat our shoes at any point. Shannon left to find out where a server was so we could order our food. She was very apologetic and brought us our beer first. Smart woman! Our beer came in a bowling pin bottle which makes me giggle every time I see them. Other than those two minor things, it really was a fun night. We bowled two games and got schooled by our kids. When we were done with that humiliation they took off to play video games while Shannon and I sat at the bar to chat....for like 4 hours! Let me say, there were some very interesting people that came through there. A group of girls that I would say were in their late teens came dressed up in costume. Quirky! Oh, to be young again! There was also this dude that kept coming up to us telling us that we were "the hottest chicks" in there....never mind that we are both in our 30's and have kids. But hey, who says you can't be hot and have kids?! He was a bit on the creepy side and kept talking even after we told him we were married. He was oogy. Any how, it was a fun night and I am glad that Shannon invited me! Thanks Shannon. :)
