Breaking Ground

Hunter and I had our final meeting with the builder yesterday to go over the details of the house. We amended just a couple of things to the flooring and the slab in the back for a patio. We replaced carpet with tile in one area downstairs and we increased the size of the slab to allow for a bigger patio area. That was really about it. The meeting was more or less to nail down the modifications we made to the floor plan and to ensure we were all on the same page. They have already pegged the lot and should start pouring the foundation next week. We were told it would be around 3 to 3 and half months and the house will be ready. So, today....we put the deposit down on an apartment and start packing stuff up for storage and garage sale stuff. Should be fun. We have 3 weeks to be out of here, give or take. Closing on our house is the 16th of March and we would like to have everything out the weekend before. That will give me an empty house to work with and clean what needs to be cleaned. So, the next few weeks will be spent packing, repairing a few things that were revealed as a result of the inspection, having a garage sale, etc. Doesn't that sound like fun. Ha! So, things are moving right along and I am very pleased with that. I am off to do a clean sweep (so to speak) on the kitchen.
