Justin Timberlake and Pink rock my face off!

Wow, where do I start? This is tough because there were so many elements of this evening that were really cool. In case you don't know what the heck I am talking about to begin with...Shannon and I went to Justin Timberlake in concert last night with Pink opening the show. Shannon suggested that we take the train from downtown Fort Worth to the American Airlines Center in Dallas where the concert was being held. Great idea by the way. It saved the headache of driving to Dallas, trying to find parking, etc. The train was pretty cool, a double decker with tables in some areas. It was nice to let some one else do the driving. On a side note, I will be doing that again any time there is a event in Dallas that I will be attending. I think Aubry would dig it too. Okay, so the drive to downtown was interesting to say that least. I think I managed to get surrounded by every slow driver on the road. We were in a bit of hurry because the trains leave at the scheduled time on the dot, every time. We were cutting it real close and as we got to the train station, I could see it but I could not easily see a way to get in to park. I think from the excitement of knowing where we were headed caused me to space out a little! I did circle around once to find a place to pull into only to realize I had already passed the entrance. So, I did quick little maneuver onto a one way street....oops. Wrong way! So, we got parked, got on the train and was on our way to Dallas. Got to Dallas an hour later, showed our ticket and proceeded to the beer counter to which we were greeted with a hearty "hello" and "glad to see some older people at the concert".....excuse me? Older people? Granted, we were of the minority here but I really didn't care. We were one of few walking around with beer because 76.98% of the concert goers were under age. (roughly that % anyway). Now to the good part. We started walking towards our section and walking and walking, not up but DOWN the stairs. The stage kept getting closer and closer. It was unreal. The seats were so perfect. We were in the 3rd row from the floor. (this is going to be the longest blog entry ever...) We had about 45 minutes to kill before the show started so we just sat there for a few minutes taking it all in. You would have thought that neither one of us have ever been to a concert before! So finally the clock ticks down to show time and out comes Pink. She was fantastic. Very energetic. She sang "Dear Mr. President" which is one of my favorite songs. She also did "Stupid Girls" which is a parody of the Hollywood blond bimbos. It was hilarious. Out come these ditzy girls wearing very skimpy shorts and had inflated chests to which Pink took a needle and popped! She did a couple of other songs off her "I'm Not Dead" album. This album is one of my favorites. You must check it out. She ended her set with "Get This Party Started", which is an older song but so appropriate to end with since Justin was due to come out! This was the coolest part of her show. There were these huge ribbons suspended from the ceiling. Pink, along with another dancer intertwined on the ribbons in a Cirque Du Soleil fashion. Very cool, very sexy.

There was a bit of an intermission before Justin came out which gave us plenty of time to get up and move around. Not mention, use the little girls room! 20 minutes go by and out comes Justin in the middle of these gauze type screens! The screens were really pretty cool. Let me just say that half the reason I love his music so much is because he channels Prince! He studied both Prince and Michael Jackson (before he turned all weird) and uses a lot of funk/soul, rock and hip-hop. It was so evident from the music style, the choreography, the wardrobe, etc. He played, "My Love", "FutureSexLove Sounds", "Like I Love You"....a lot of dancing, a lot of running between each section since the concert was in the round. He did a really good job of giving equal attention to each section. During his intermission, Timbaland who helped to produce the album, comes out and plays a montage of all the people he has worked with in the past. It was really something to see all the artist he has helped produce, including Aaliyah. (rest her soul). Justin finished his set with a lot of ballads and piano playing. The second half was not as energetic and fast paced as the first half, but that was kind of a good thing because I was wore out from the dancing and the singing and the screaming (yes, I was screaming along with all of the other thousands of teenagers in the arena....so what!) To sum it up, the show was fantastic and I would absolutely see him in concert again.

Nice summary - mine is much more brief as I just couldn't collect my thoughts when I wrote it. Holy cow, that was awesome.
