Saturday Night Sleepover

The girls arrived at 4:00 (thank you Vanessa for getting Payton on your way here with Marissa). The first couple of hours were touch and go with who wanted to do what. They could not agree on anything. There were no fights, but there was nothing they could agree on either. Vanessa stayed for a few hours and it was great to hang out with her. We shot pool and just talked which was a nice change of pace for me. Around dinner time, I got out all the stuff out to make what we call "ultimate nachos". Vanessa and I started the chopping and the cooking and the preparing while we listened to the girls running around up stairs having a good time doing whatever it was they were doing. We all ate our nachos and then it was off to running around some more for the girls. After a while, I got out the ice cream sundae stuff and we had our own variation of a sundae. What a nice sticky mess that turned out to be. The rest of the night they played on the Wii, shot pool, did whatever in Aubry's room and ended the night playing hide and seek....in the dark! Let me just say, this house is perfect for pitch black hide and seek. The girls had flash lights so they would not take a tumble down the stairs! But it was still a little eary for them. Hunter decided to join in the fun, only they didn't know it until he would come out from behind something and scare the crap out of them. I could hear the low moaning sound he would make and then he would dart off into the dark again. They loved it....not knowing where he would be next! I could hear some comments, "Hunter, you don't scare me", "I know your here, some where....right? Hunter??", "Dad, your really scaring us now." It was greatness!

Okay, now comes the part of the evening that I did NOT enjoy. I will make this short and sweet because it is gross and I can't believe it happened. We were all upstairs doing whatever and I heard Marissa come out of the bathroom saying, "ewwww, someone didn't flush." I went in the bathroom to find the toilet full of....well stuff. I took the plunger to it and flushed. You can guess what happened next. I am yelling, "oh crap, oh crap, oh crap." The girls come running to see what is happening and the toilet is overflowing onto the floor with leftovers. (I know, gross right). They start laughing. Now normally I have a great sense of humor about things, but not this. I was pretty ticked off that they were standing there gawking at the mess on the floor and laughing at me. I must admit, I yelled at them to get Hunter, get some towels and then get out here. For that, I feel bad but it was just not the time and place for jokes. Granted, I laugh about it now and think it was pretty hilarious but just not at the time the floor was covered in it. So now when Hunter and I have a bad day, we have decided to reference this incident to make it all better! Way to break in the new house huh?!
