Sunshine and the 4th of July

Happy 4th! (a day late...) The 4th was awesome because the sun was out allll day long for the first time in weeks. We have had rain every day at one point or another since May. But not on the 4th! Sunshine and fun. And with all that sunshine, you thought we would have spent it outside but we did not. We had made plans a few days ago when we had nothing but rain rain rain all day and figured we would have to make plans for indoors. So, we did spent the day at The Main Event playing games, bowling and playing a round of laser tag. I did much better this time than I did the first time out. Shannon and I were two of the four adults on our team. The remaining 8 people were kids, very short kids! We got annihilated by the other team which was full of skilled "laser taggers"! It was still fun. And even though we were inside, just knowing the sun was out made me feel happy! After our afternoon of gaming we headed out to run a few errands and then went home to have ice cream for dinner! As it started getting dark, we went outside to watch the fireworks that our neighbors across the street were shooting off. Generally, we would have driven some place to check out fireworks, but it was not necessary this year. (They had some really good ones too). Overall, it was a great day.
