First of all, I want to thank everyone that was able to donate some money to the American Diabetes Association on behalf of the fund raiser through Aubry's school. Aubry collected over 500.00 dollars and she could not have done it without your generosity. So, Thank You. With that being said, this morning, Aubry and I got up at 7:30 and headed to the Middle School where the walk for Diabetes was taking place. We got there a little early and only saw about 25 or 30 people which did concern me a bit. But by the time 9:00 rolled around, there were over 200 people. The weather was perfect and the turn out was great. The way this particular event worked, for each lap around the track you got a raffle ticket. The walk lasted for one hour in which Aubry and I walked 3 miles. Well, we did jog some just to get our heart rates up! :) She took off a couple times to get a jump start on me and to keep from getting run over by some other people! We did enjoy ourselves very much and even came home with a couple of prizes. I am glad that I got to do this with Aubry. It has inspired both of us to look for other events we can take part in...but not just any event. We want to find something near and dear to our hearts. I think diabetes is a good cause since we both know people who have it. So, I will be doing some research to seek out other events.
The rest of the day will be spent going to movies with Hunter and Aubry. We will be buying a grill finally and hopefully :) and then we will do some spring and summer clothes shopping for the kiddo. I know there is something else, I just cannot think of it right now! Oh, if we do get a grill, I am grilling steaks tonight! Come on over!
