Mom's Day

Mother’s Day brought thoughtfulness and a tear to my eye. I woke up Sunday morning to find coffee already made. I always wake up before Hunter and have coffee made before he even opens his eyes. But this particular morning he woke up way before I did. Any how, the coffee was ready and there was an incredibly thoughtful card sitting on top of my coffee mug (and my Garmin Forerunner should be arriving today!). The thing what made me choke up the most was this very simple sentiment wrote by Hunter. “Thank you for having a family with me”. Then it was Aubry’s turn. She woke up and came directly into the computer room where I was and had her hands behind her back. Now keep in mind, Aubry has wanted to give me this gift since Friday and I asked her to wait. It would appear that the entire class had their hand in this lovely Mother’s Day creation. Each student brought a recipe from home and they put all of these recipes into a cookbook that they made for their mom’s. I love it and I cannot wait to try out some of them. I think I am going to use my family as guinea pigs on a cheesecake recipe before I try it out on other people. I would love to make it for this weekend when Mary Jo, Mark and hopefully Megan come over for dinner. Maybe I will use them as my guinea pigs too! After all the hugs and a big thank you, I was off and running to get some stuff done. Laundry, bathrooms, grocery shopping, etc. I had every intention of going to Home Depot to get mulch and some more flowers. That never happened. Oh well, next weekend will be here before you know it and I will just take care of the yard stuff then. After I got back from running errands, we went over to check out Mike’s new place. He moved over the weekend and is now right around the corner from us. Will be nice to see him more often, I think! ;) His new place is nice. He found this brand new complex that put a lot of attention into the details of the place. Hard wood floors, granite counter tops, crown molding, etc. Any how, we then took off to Best Buy and then grabbed some dinner at Pei Wei. Since it was mom’s day, they let me choose and I love that place. I was not dressed properly to go to some place fancy. Actually, even if I was cleaned up a bit more, I still would have chosen Pei Wei. Don’t need the fancy shmancy stuff. After dinner, we got home with lots of day light to use still. Aubry rode her bike around while I got ready to wash my car. It was dirty dirty dirty and it looks so much prettier when it is all shiny. Nothing like a clean shiny silver car and clean wheels to make you stand back and go ahhh! (a little dramatic over having a clean car, I know….) Aubry and Hunter helped me and it made the washing the car thing go much faster. Not to mention, they wanted to help me out since it was mom’s day. Oh, speaking of helping out, I got home from running my errands to find that laundry was done. Whoa. That was cool.

I am out for now. Have a great week.

Hope you all had a fantastic Mother's Day.
