Last Day of School

Yesterday, Hunter and I attended the awards ceremony at Aubry's school. All the kids were being commended on their performance for grades, citizenship, attendance, etc. Aubry recieved an award for All A Honor Roll! "We are very proud of you Aubry. You have had a fantastic year." I honestly feared that moving would be tough on her. I do realize it was just to another city and not out of state. But regardless of how far we moved, she was still pulled out of her school, moved away from an area she was most familiar with, moved away from all of her friends. Not to mention, she was not able to spend as much time with her nana, papa and Aunt Megan. So, everything in Keller was new to her. I don't mean to make it sound tragic, because in the grand scheme of things...it was a minor move in comparison. I guess what I am trying to drive home here is that moving can be tough on any kid, no matter where you may move to. But I will say that in the end it did not affect her negatively, at all. She had a great year, has made some really good friends and has still been able to see some of her friends from the old school. We still get to spend some time with nana, papa and Megan too! I guess you could say she has had the best of both worlds. So, that brings me to today. We have been in Keller for a year now and it is the last day for my 5th grader. When 12:30 rolls around this afternoon, she will officially be a 6th grader. Again, I am really proud of Aubry for her focus, her grades, the potential she shows every day. She is well on her way to becoming a lovely young lady! Love you kiddo.
