And The Running Continues....

Yes, another post about my running. I promise not to beat you guys down with this but I think I am addicted. I look forward to my next run and I am not entirely sure if it because I just flat out enjoy it, love to see my results because of the cool Garmin watch, just want to get healthy...I am not entirely sure. I just know that I enjoy it. Tonight is another 3 mile run but I am going to go for 3.5 miles, I think. After watching the weather this morning and seeing wind gusts of 35 to 40, I am not sure if I can even make the 3 miles...unless I run with the wind the entire time! But let me back up and bring you to Tuesday night. Mike, Hunter's friend (and mine too, but Hunter knew him first) was at our house over the weekend. Running came up and we got to talking about him running with me. I told him I was running Tuesday so he came over to be my running partner. I told him my pace was slow and that I hoped he was not looking for an 8 minute mile! And for those wondering why Hunter does not run with me, we talked about it and as much as he would like to his knees would not hold up. He does my cross training with me, but the running is just not going to happen. Any way, back to Tuesday, Mike came over and we hit the streets and did our 3 miles. My results were pretty good. My pace was the same, my heart rate went down, I burned 370 calories and I felt great.

Now here we are to Wednesday night. It was tennis lessons for Aubry at 5:00 to which Hunter was able to catch the last 30 minutes or so. I will say this, the wind was whipping around so hard yesterday that it made it very difficult to practice. Aubry did great and stuck with it. The best part about last nights lesson is that it turned out to be a private lesson. The class is very small to begin with but it just so happened that elite soccer camp kept one student away and vacations kept the others away. So, it was just Aubry and Sarah (the instructor). She was able to spend a great deal of time on her forehand which is a bit tough for Aubry. When she focuses and puts all of the tips to use, she is great but when she just starts swinging at it, that is when I want to put a softball bat in her hands! She would be awesome behind the plate. Any how, her backhand and serve are great. A little tweaking and her backhand will win her points. The thing I am happy about is that she really enjoys it. I would love to see her stick with it. I think she could be a fantastic tennis player. Tennis practice was over, we headed home, Hunter ordered dinner :) and ran to the grocery store. Got home, had dinner and then chilled out for a bit before Hunter and I headed out to do our 2 miles cross training. Aubry was going to go with us but after tennis practice, she was wiped out and very sweaty. She jumped in the shower before even eating dinner. So she was already cleaned up and ready to just chill. Any how, Hunter and I rode our bikes, got back home and relaxed that rest of the night.

3.5 miles tonight...wish me luck.
