Sunday Morning Run

I would like to open this post by saying congratulations to Shannon. She completed her first 5K run over the weekend. I am proud of her because she had a personal timed goal and not only did she meet that goal, but she beat it! Kudos to you and I look forward to our next run together.

As for my goals, right now I should be happy with just finishing my long runs on the weekend. And I am happy to a point but I must admit, I was a bit disappointed with my results from this morning. My pace, heart rate, time, etc. is the same as my first 3 mile run and it just makes me feel like I am starting over at square one. So this morning I get online and am chatting with Shannon. I express my disappointment to which she replied, "You can't keep the same pace when you up the mileage though, not right now at least. Distance is the goal, not time." And she is right. I guess I just needed to hear it from a friend that just happens to be doing the exact same training program as I am. So, thank you Shannon. And on that note, this weeks 3.5 mile runs on Tuesday and Thursday should be a breeze!

Awww...thanks. Since you like to focus on time, schedule a 5K and focus on getting a good time there. You can probably hit under 30 minutes!

I am going to try and let the time go! But, I will schedule a 5K so I can say that I "completed" the race. ;)
