Here we are to Saturday. We were pretty wiped out from being in the sun the day before, a night of shows and partying, having some alcohol treats, etc. So we decided to sleep in a little on Saturday knowing full well that it was going to be a late night. By the time we got up, Gene was almost done with class and Hunter was ready for some aloe on his burn. The guys (including one of Gene’s buddies that was also there for the work related conference) took off to pick up the VIP passes to the 4 clubs at the Palms. Turns out, there were no passes to be picked up. Gene just had to show he paid for the passes and our names got on “The List” to all 4 clubs. In summary, we did not have to wait in line to get into these places! Whoo Hoo. That is the way to do Vegas baby. So, while the guys were off doing their thing, LaBrett and I were off getting manicures and doing our thing. Later in the afternoon, we all met up at a little bistro to have some cheesecake and coffee and then retired to our rooms for a little nap. (Again, we KNEW it was going to be a late night). After our naps, we all met up again, dressed to the nines and ready to hit the strip and the clubs. We went to Planet Hollywood to gamble because we just really loved the vibe in that place. Hunter had luck on his side, I guess, or else he really knew what he was doing at the roulette table. He turned his 80 bucks into 320 or something like that. And, he knew when to stop. He stopped after his 45 minute winning streak ended. Lost once, cashed out and put the money in wallet. That is the way to do it in my opinion! And speaking of winning, LaBrett had some good fortune on the Craps table. I did not stick around to hear how it was played so when I was watching all the action, I was just confused. I need to look up the rules. She really enjoyed it and that was pretty much what she stuck with. After our gambling at Planet Hollywood, we made our way to the Bellagio. LaBrett works with a guy (her tech I think) that had just been to Vegas the month before. He brought her back some chips from the Bellagio so she had free money to gamble with. I must say, as beautiful as the Bellagio was, I would never stay there. I can fully appreciate class and the 5 star treatment, but this place was way too stuffy for me (all of us as a matter of fact). It is really hard to explain how this place made me feel. All I know is that the further we walked into the casino area, the more stuffy it got. Old money every where, brass and glass in an overabundance. It is just not for me. Give me something a bit more relaxed, nice and friendly. This place just did not say friendly to me. I know, there are people reading this that think I am nuts…I have to say, I really don’t care!
Our next trek was to make our way to a shorter cab line to we could head to the Palms. That was our destination for the rest of the night. We had the VIP treatment all lined up for the Playboy Club, Moon (something or another), Rain and the Ghost Bar. By far, the Playboy Club was my favorite. I think the next time we do this we will make sure that we reserve one of the prime seating areas so we can take a load off our feet when we want to! We did manage to hit all 4 clubs in a 7 hour period to which Hunter danced the entire time. He danced in the club, the elevators, the casinos, the stairs, the bathroom (I am told), every where, the entire time we were out at the clubs that night! All of the clubs were very cool. There was one place that was not my favorite due to the severely over crowdedness of it. The club itself reminded me of an underground type club that you would see in the movie Blade or something like that. It was really dark with décor of silver and blue. There was a smoke machine that gave it the elusion of fog which was pretty cool, but a bit sufficating. The dance floor was sunken in about 7 to 8 steps below the rest of the place and was surrounded by bars that many people were hanging off and dancing on. Cool place, just so dang crowded. Hardly any room to breath. Enough of that place, the coolest place was the Playboy Club. Pretty chill environment, enough room to dance and just hang at the bar if you wanted. They had a really cool section surrounding the dance floor that could be reserved. There were these plush sectionals with a big table in the center for personal bar service which we will be reserving the next time we are there! The other 2 clubs, Rain and the Ghost Bar were a lot of fun as well. Each place was very different from the other so we got to experience different types of people (if you will….). Not sure how else to put that. There was a just a distinct difference in the type crowd each place attracted. Not any one crowd worse than that other, just different. With that being said, our clubbing night last until the weeeeee hours of the morning. We went to bed around 5:30 a.m. and it was worth every yawn I had on Sunday!
