Vegas - Part Two

Friday was show day/night. We had 2 shows booked for that night. We planned it that way since we wanted to leave Saturday open for our “clubbing” night. We started our day off at the pool and spent the afternoon enjoying the DJ and the sun. Hunter slathered on the SPF 50 and still got a little sun burned. I was just as surprised as he was but he managed to survive it just fine with a little of aloe! After our day at the pool, we got cleaned up and headed to our shows. The shows we saw were Stomp Out Loud which was performed at Planet Hollywood (I fully intend to stay there the next time we go) and X Burlesque which was performed at Flamingo’s. The way I see it, you are in Vegas to see shows you would never intend to see while at home so we decided we would see a risqué show just because we could! It was not sleazy but it was also not as spectacular as I was hoping. There were a couple of choreographed dances that were awesome but some of the girls were just sort of going through the motions. It was not a waste of time but it is not something I would see again. There was however a comedian that came out half way through the show to give a little 10 – 15 minute stand-up routine. His name is James Bean and he was hilarious. I have not looked him up since being back home, but he is someone I would see again. Aside from the X show being just pretty good, Stomp Out Loud was greatness. It was entertaining, energetic, funny, creative…I just can’t say enough about it. They used everything from trash cans to tubing to boxes filled with popcorn to make this percussion type music. And it was music. It was not just a bunch of noise. I will see them again if they ever come to Dallas . I think some where in the course of this day, we saw the fountains at Bellagio which was pretty cool. I stood in the same spot as the Oceans 11 cast did when they filmed the Ocean’s 11 movie! (You know, it might have been Thursday that we saw the fountains). Back to Friday. So here we are sitting at the bar at Planet Hollywood, having a drink, waiting for Stomp to start when I start to really focus on this dude sitting only 10 feet from us. He looks like someone, someone I have seen before. I can only see his profile so it was hard to tell, but he looked just like someone I have seen before. I looked at his feet and that confirmed who I thought it was. Let me just add one thing here, I love reading celebrity junk. I can’t help it. It is my guilty pleasure. It is mindless reading and I just love it. So, when I mention that the shoes confirmed that this guy was who I thought he was, it is because I would see him all over the internet/tabloids wearing these dang white tennis shoes, all the time. It was Kevin Federline. I was a little star struck even if he is not an A, B or C list type celebrity. He is a celebrity none the less and looks very handsome in person. I wanted to go up and meet him but he had his “people” around him and we learned very quickly that he was not allowing any pictures. Just at that time, LaBrett’s 16 year old daughter calls to say hi. So LaBrett tells her who is 10 feet away from us. “Oh MY Goddddddd, you have to take his picture. Who cares if you get kicked out of the club. Your in Vegas, you’re supposed to get kicked out of clubs in Vegas.” LaBrett replied, “No, we are not going to get kicked out before we even get a chance to see the show!” I think that if we did not have a show to go to, we might have been rebellious and taken that fools picture any way. (I later learned that he was there to receive a “Father of the Year” award, to which I thought one thing…really?)
