...is a sign that your body needs the rest. Around 7:00 last night, I was completely wiped out. I am going to attribute it to many things that I will not go into great detail about here. But let me just say that when Hunter rolled over to get out of bed at his normal time and saw me still sleeping, he knew something was not right. I was not sick, I was just very very tired and never heard my alarm go off at 5:15 a.m. So, I jumped out of bed when I realized what time it was, grabbed my laptop and headed upstairs to log in. I sent my email: "WFH and will be 100% available via cell phone and/or email." Almost immediately the replies were coming in, "is everything okay?" I hardly ever send an email the day of to say I am working from home. I am very fortunate to have the luxury and I try not to take advantage of it. But this morning, I absolutely needed to take advantage of that luxury.
It was nice to be home and be able to start dinner earlier than normal. We ate a little sooner than we typically would which gave my body time to digest my food somewhat before my run this evening. I made baked tilapia, steamed some broccoli, cut up red and green pepper and some mushrooms. I threw those in a pan with olive oil, pepper and basil. Everything was very good and light. Then 8:00 rolls around. I got suited up to get out to do my 4.5 miles. It was an eventful run for sure. About 3/4 of a mile in, I had the sudden urge to pee (I know, you really needed to hear that) and then it went away. It came back and then went away, came back, went away. You get the idea. And then about 1.5 miles in, a dog came out from the side of a house and decided to start running with me. I did not see the owner right away but did hear someone say, "you need to stop or she will keep running with you." So, I stopped, she came and got her dog and I was on my way again. Broke up my groove but that is okay. I got it back in no time. Then about 2.5 miles in, an enormous line of cars came zipping past me, scaring the crap out of me. Not really sure who let the flood gates open but there were a ton of them. After that, I got ready to cross the street and low and behold, a car stopped for me in the pedestrian walk way. That has never happened in these months that I have been running. As I am wrapping up my 4.5 miles, I have just a tenth of a mile left and I was really ready to get it done with so I broke out into a semi sprint. When I hit my completion mark, I heard clapping from some dude that was working on his car. "Good job lady!" I needed that :) My own little cheering section.
