My 11 days off of work were wonderful. The first half was spent spending time with family and enjoying cards, games, wine, crown and coke, gift exchanging, etc. We did not go any where per say, but what we did do was fun and was time well spent with the family. I am sure I have some pictures somewhere, but not loaded to my laptop. So, pics will have to come at a later date.
As for this week, it is back to reality. It was the first full week back to work and it was a long long week. I had 432 emails to go through and that took the first 2 days. The rest of the week was spent trying desperately to meet the clients deadline. I can proudly say that I did, but not without stress and a few gray hairs making their appearance. Which is okay I guess. The ones I already have were getting lonely. This week also brought about the return of running, working out and adding yoga to my regime. I must say, I have really missed yoga. I used to practice it all the time a few years ago when we were members of 24 Hour Fitness. Since we are no longer members of a gym, it was hard to find yoga classes that were not too expensive or were at a manageable time for me. And then, I was introduced to Fit TV (thank you LaBrett). I have a few yoga episodes recorded so I can practice my yoga any time I want. One episode that is coming up, I am very anxious for. It is geared towards distance runners. From what the summary says, it helps to stretch areas that tend to get tight on runners. I look forward to that one.
Another event (an important one) that wrapped up the week was Hunter's birthday. His birthday was on Thursday which we celebrated with giving him a goodie bag of his favorite items. I also bought a red velvet cake (bought it because I just don't/can't bake). Friday, we went to Salt Grass Steakhouse for dinner. I managed to pull of a surprise gathering for him. I sent a mass email out on Wednesday to his friends. More than half were able to make it and yes, he was surprised. We had good food, good drinks, laughs....it was just a good time and a much needed one for him. I will be picking up his gift today. I had to order it because they did not have it in stock. As soon as they call, I will be off and running to get it. So all in all, his birthday (which has extended to 3 days now) was a good one. We will be meeting up with his family some time this weekend or next weekend. It is just a matter of getting schedules situated.
Today, it is grocery shopping, returning some items to Target, getting Hunter's gift picked up and watching some play off football! Tomorrow, the weather should be good enough to get out and run. It is too cold today and I don't have anything to cover my mouth to keep from breathing in the cold air. That is just asking for trouble (at least for me)
