A while back, I was tagged by Shannon to post an 8 Things type blog. I am finally getting around to it. Okay, I won’t lie…I forgot about it until recently so I am going to post it now, along with a schedule of what a day looks like in the house of the Barbosa’s That was something else that Shannon posted which I thought was pretty cool. It gives sort of an inside look into our lives.
8 Things I did today (but not necessarily in this order):
1. Went to work.
2. Ran a few miles.
3. Researched weight benches online.
4. Checked airfare for two potential trips in June (I know, it is really early).
5. Ate dinner and watched a movie with Hunter
6. Ran a quick errand to a sporting goods store
7. Got my headset working on my computer so I could actually chat with Liz using my voice instead of the keyboard!
8. Went to bed
8 Favorite Restaurants (and not in the order)
1. Shogun
2. Piranha
3. Saltgrass Steakhouse
4. Anamia’s
5. Pei Wei
6. Whataburger (I know, baaaaaad for me!)
7. La Madeline
8. My Kitchen (the one at my house)
8 Favorite Shows (past and present)
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
2. Angel
3. House
4. Bones
5. Fringe
6. Smallville
7. What Not To Wear (my guilty pleasure)
8. Moving Up (another guilty pleasure)
8 Things I wish for
1. A trip to Italy
2. A trip to Australia
3. A trip to Spain
4. To run another ½ marathon pain free (this will happen)
5. A smaller waist line
6. Continued stability
7. A better 2009 for some family (you know who you are!)
8. Prince to go on tour again
8 Things I look forward to
1. Running another ½ marathon.
2. Participating in the 3 Day Breast Cancer walk with Liz. (this event is very close to our hearts).
3. The summer which brings 2 very special and life changing events for my family.
4. A trip to Mexico with the family.
5. Warmer temps so I can run outside on a routine basis (I am not a fan of the treadmill and it looks like warmer temps are right around the corner. Yay!)
6. Aubry’s closer to being a teen years….bring it on.
7. My home brewed starbucks coffee every morning and I don’t care what the Skinny B*tch book says about it.
8. Getting all the things done in the house that I have been intending to do for months now.
My Schedule
5:15 am – get up, make coffee, feed the cat, get in the shower
5:25 am – get out of the shower and wash my face with all the crap that is supposed to be good for my skin.
5:30 am – grap makeup bag and mirror, pour my coffee, turn on the TV and stare blankly at the screen for a good 5-7 minutes.
5:40 ish am – put on makeup and continue to stare at the TV and try to recall what they were just talking about 2 minutes prior.
6:00 am – walk into the closet and figure out what the heck I am going to wear.
6:15 am – finally figured out what to wear and start in on the hair, drying it first and then taking the flat iron to it ( all the while, listening for movement upstairs to make sure Aubry actually woke up to her alarm)
6:40 am – rinse out coffee cup, tell Aubry and Hunter bye and head out the door for work.
*side note: I am slow to wake up….if I have to get ready quickly, I can do it 45 minutes. I just don’t like to get up and rush around.
7:20 am – arrive work and do the whole work thing.
Noonish – go get some lunch and eat at my desk while still working
4:30 ish pm – head to the gym and run on the treadmill (this does not occur everyday, just happened to on this particular day)
5:15 pm – finish my run, grab my bag and head out Dick’s Sporting Goods in Irving.
5:25 pm – arrive the sporting goods store only to realize they do not have what I am looking for. Dang it.
6:30 pm – get home, finally
6:45 pm – take a shower
7:00 pm – get dinner (Hunter was making it while I was in the shower) and head upstairs for dinner and a movie.
8:00 pm – pause the movie to go get Aubry from a birthday party
8:30 pm – resume the movie
10:00 pm – Aubry heads to bed and I head downstairs to update FB and research some stuff online.
10:30 pm – lights out for me. I was sleepy.

Interesting...I do love reading people's schedules. Our mornings are very different but well suited to each of us I guess.
I love all the mention of trips!
One day, I will make it to all of those places. Until then, I will just dream of them and read about them and drool over the pics of them.
