Unicorn - Mythological or Real? You Decide.

A unicorn (from Latin unus 'one' and cornu 'horn') is a mythological creature.

Should I be offended or flattered that my husband’s friend’s (some of them) have referred to me as a unicorn? I suppose in some ways I could be a mythological creature. I have a very different mindset than most women. There are a myriad of reasons why I believe this to be true. And for these reasons, I have very few female friends. The ones I do have are very near and dear to my heart. (You know who you are!)

1) My husband had a life and friends before me and I did not expect him to give that up because I came into his life.
2) The man I married is the man I married. Simply put, I did not marry him in anticipation of changing him.
3) I believe that time apart once in awhile is healthy and sometimes necessary.
4) Save the high maintenance for…well, never.
5) I do not believe that your spouse should drop everything, at the instant you say so, because you “need to talk”.
6) I love to watch football and I scream at the TV with the best of them. My husband, not so much. But I also do not expect him to sit down and watch a game with me just because I am watching it.
7) I believe that a guy’s night out should be just that…a guy’s night out. There is no need to text to see how he is doing. No need to call to see if they are having a good time. Let him have his time. Sheesh!
8) Vehicles are MORE than just transportation. I love to drive, I love my car and I love the fact that when I turn it on, it returns the favor.
9) Sport bikes are the bomb and I hope to have one someday. What about helmet hair you ask? Who cares.
10) Shopping sucks, unless it is at Best Buy.
11) Action flicks by far surpass Romantic Comedies.
12) Sci-Fi and gaming is not for geeks.
13) I know that I am spoiled and I would never use that to my advantage.
14) I can’t bake. I leave that to my husband.
15) I can’t stand drama, gossip, he said – she said crap.
16) There is no hidden agenda behind my guy-like tendencies. What you see is what you get.

I suppose I could go on and list more, but then it gets to the point where I sound narcissistic.
