What a MAD, MAD Day!

Aubry and I had a Mom and Aubry Day. It was perfect! We started out at the Salon to get her hair cut. Then I decided we should have a manicure. This is something I rarely do but decided what the heck. Aubry really enjoyed it, especially because the nail tech added a flower to one of her nails on each hand! Very cute. After we were done at the salon, I took her to lunch where we joked and laughed loudly, to the point where a table or two was looking at us. Lighten up people and have some fun! Sheesh :) After lunch, we spent the next 4 or so hours school clothes shopping. Aubry has been picking out her clothes for a long time now and this trip was no different. She has great taste and it is always fun to see her going from rack to rack and picking out stuff. She likes too look at the wall displays and the mannequins to get some ideas as well. I am sure we missed out on some things though because she shops like I do. I am not a digger. I just kind of graze past the racks and if something catches my eye, great. I know this is probably not the best way to shop, but I really don't get into it like some of my friends do. And with Aubry being the same way, it really does make our shopping days fun. When we dumped off our bags in the car, we then headed to Marble Slab Creamery which was within walking distance from our last shop stop. I didn't realize it at the time, but it was actually close to dinner so our ice cream treat became dinner! When we finally got home, we collapsed on the floor. It was a fantastic day. And the timing could not be better because Aubry is spending this week with Nana. We planned these weeks really far in advance so I knew they were coming. But still, the house is just not the same when she is gone. Our MAD day was a very welcome day and I will happily have more of those.

I realize I am going backwards here with my days of events, but Friday was a great day as well. Lindsey, a very good friend of mine came over Friday night. We lost touch for a long time (too long actually) and finally connected again a couple of weeks ago. It was great to see her again and catch up with every thing that has been going on. I promised myself and her that we would not let so much time pass. Good friends are very hard to find and when you do find them, realize they are a gift and never take it for granted.
