The morning of our Vegas trip started out great despite being really sleepy from having to catch an early early flight. The girl that sat next to Hunter and me on the plane turned out to be really nice and was a lot of fun to talk with. The conversation was not forced at all and it made the flight out to Vegas seem really short. Before we knew, we were flying over the Grand Canyon , which was beautiful. Once we landed, we said our goodbyes to “Carrie”, got our luggage and made our way to the shuttle buses to take us to our hotel. We got there only to realize we had to wait another 2 hours before we could check in so we left our luggage at the front desk, grabbed our claim ticket and headed out to check out the hotel and casino where we were staying. (LaBrett and Gene had little bit later flight than we did so we planned to meet up with them when they got to the hotel.) We spent the better of our first day walking around and checking out the whole place. The hotel where we stayed (Bally’s) was connected to another hotel ( Paris ) so we walked through that casino and the shops as well. It was all so overwhelming at first because there was just so much to take in. All in all, our first night was spent getting acclimated, sitting at the bar for a couple of drinks, enjoying a nice dinner, walking through the casino and learning about the different “games” that are played on the tables. I much preferred the tables over the slot machines. I found the machines to be boring. There was no interaction with people, just button pushing. It was just not for me. I need the interaction and the laughter and conversation with other people. Any how, Gene had a couple of events to attend that night so we were all off doing our thing for a while. We met up later for dinner (a very late dinner) and then headed to our rooms to get some much needed sleep. So we got through the first night which was pretty low key as we all expected since we were up so dang early to
catch our flight out.
I posted a ton of pics to myspace. There are some really good ones there!
