This Past Weekend

Well, the long weekend came and went with nothing super exciting to report. I did use my entire day Friday to get caught up on stuff around the house since the previous 2 weeks at work have had me home late. That night, we had our own personal fireworks show(s) from the comfort of our back yard. Since we are county and not city, shooting off fireworks is legal in our neighborhood. And there was a ton of it too, all around us. Very nice to see from our patio. Saturday was a cross training day. I rode the required 40 minutes (according to the training program) and this time I did not fall off my bike! Whoo hoo. I am making progress. That night, I met Vanessa downtown and we headed over to The Fox and the Hound. The downtown one is much better than the one we used to go to. Any how, this particular night, they had all of the TV's tuned in to the UFC fights. I was so intrigued and the bar was just filled with excitement. I have never really cared much for boxing but this was different. I was pretty captivated and wrapped up in the energy from the crowd. It was so loud and full of life. Vanessa and I stayed until around 12:45 (a.m.). I wanted to get home at a pretty decent time since I was running Sunday morning. I got home later than I wanted, but I still got up and did my 6 miles. It was not too horribly bad. I finished and that is what matters to me at this point. Sunday was spent cooling off after my run and watching the best mens singles Wimbledon match ever. I DVR'd it so I could watch it whenever. Turns out the match had a rain delay twice and I was not able to see the entire match. They went into the 5th set and that is when the DVR stopped recording. Darn it. I did catch up on the details this morning, but it was not the same. Either way, the player I wanted to win did in fact win. I was happy to read that. The rest of the night was spent with Hunter and Aubry, just chilling. Something we all needed.
