9 Miles and the Gaylord Texan Resort

This morning I got up at 7:00 to run my 9 miles. Since I am without the Garmin, I made sure to look at the clock to see what time it was. It was 7:22 when I walked out the door. When I returned it was 9:31. I walked before and after my run which I always do but the only time that is logged is the actual running part. So, I am not really sure how long it took me to do the 9 miles. And quite honestly, I don't care. I have to admit, as much as I love the Garmin, there was no pressure for me to perform. Mind you, it is self induced pressure but it was gone none the less. I didn't concern myself with looking at the time, checking my pace, how much further do I have, how far have I gone, is my time at the 3 mile mark better than last time, and the list goes on. I will say that I am not so absorbed with the Garmin that I am constantly checking it, but I do check it. So this morning since I was without it, I just got out and ran. It was refreshing too. I knew the course was 9 miles, I knew I had to get through it and I did.

Something I have been forgetting about and am finally remembering to post on is the Gaylord Texan Resort. It is a resort that is on lake Grapevine and has a few restaurants and lounges. One of the lounges is wine-cellar steakhouse and ther is also a Nuevo Latin cafe. There is a night club called the Glass Cactus which is on the lake, there is a lot of shopping that you may not see in any other part of town. For guests that stay at the resort, there is a fitness center, indoor lap pool, and salon. Nothing really unusual in that respect but it is the inside of this place that is cool. I had the pleasure of dining at one of the establishments with a bunch of co-workers. I took some pics with my camera phone (which they always have a blue tint to them...not sure why). I would love to go back and check out all of the shops and the club, etc. I smell and double date night with LaBrett and Gene!

so glad your run went well! I haven't done mine yet because we are still driving back from wedding festivities as I type. also, you and Hunter should go to the Gaylord during Christmas season because it is supposed to be really beautiful.

I have heard that Gaylord at Christmas time is pretty awesome. We will check it out, for sure.
