Catching Up
It has been a long time since I have posted anything and to be honest, it is because there has not been anything super cool going on. I certainly don't want to post about work and how busy it is. That would bore people to tears. I can post about running, but since being sick, I have not been running like I normally would. The last time I ran was the benefit 5K run for Casey's Kids and that was two weeks ago. I can post about the Cowboys, but they just got back in the saddle with a huge win over Washington. (which is very cool by the way). So, I will post about what is coming up. Tonight, we have a movie date with our friends LaBrett and Gene. All 4 of us are big Bond fans so we are going to see The Quantum of Solace. I am already preparing myself for the barrage of teens that will be at the theater to see Twilight. I have every intention of taking Aubry to see it because she loves the book. But, not on opening weekend. I don't have it in me right now to fight the teen crowds. Call it what you will, but my week has put me in a not so great mood. I fear the massive groups of teens will just make it worse! Any how, so movie night tonight but not before the afternoon is spent re-doing the closet. We have some wasted space in our huge closet and I am going to cut some bars and add some shelving to make it work better. How exciting...I guess. Tomorrow will be spent watching football, of course. Cowboys play at noon against a team that they should have no trouble beating. Later that afternoon, Mary Jo is coming over so we can hammer out the Thanksgiving menu. Which by the way, we are hosting this year! Yippee! I am excited because we have wanted to host a holiday dinner since we decided to have this house built. Lots of room, lots of fun stuff to do. We have the Party House according to some of our friends, and Aubry's for that matter. We would like to take advantage of that title and have everyone over for the holidays. Next week is Thanksgiving of course and I look forward to some time off. What really stinks though, I got roped into "working" the day after Thanksgiving. All I really have to do is stay logged in at home and keep my eye on the emails to take care of any issues that come up. According to co-workers that have done this in the past, there is never any activity that day because most of the people on the client side have taken that day off. Luckily, I don't have to go into the office. I can log in from home and just check the inbox periodically. The cool part, I guess, is that I got an extra PTO day which I have already scheduled to use in early December. There are two days that I am taking to drive to San Marcos with Kendra. This is our annual Christmas shopping trip which we are doing on two weekdays instead of on the weekend. I didn't mind doing it on the weekend, but it was really very busy. With any luck, the weekdays will not be as bad. I am off to have some coffee and Lucky Charms now.
